Trifecta Nutrition is a subscription-based service that provides a variety of delicious, nutritionally balanced meals.

It offers several meal plans and menu options, which may be especially appealing for people following specific eating patterns, such as paleo, ketogenic, or vegan diets.

Trifecta also uses organic produce and humanely raised meat in all of its meals, so it’s a great choice for those who prioritize sustainability.

This article takes a closer look at Trifecta Nutrition, including how it works, how much it costs, and whether you should try it.

Pros

  • includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner options
  • offers plans for several dietary patterns
  • features organic, sustainably sourced ingredients
  • may help support weight loss and improve health
  • offers free shipping throughout the United States

Cons

  • does not allow you to choose your own meals on most plans
  • allows you to exclude only up to two ingredients from your weekly menu
  • may become expensive over time

Trifecta Nutrition is an organic meal delivery service specializing in providing fresh, flavorful, and nutritious entrees.

All meals feature high quality, sustainably sourced ingredients, including lean proteins, complex carbs, and veggies.

Trifecta Nutrition offers plans tailored to several specific diets, such as:

  • Clean: includes meat or fish, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables
  • Keto: includes meat or fish, dairy products, healthy fats, and low carb fruits and vegetables
  • Paleo: includes meat or fish, fruits, and vegetables
  • Vegan: includes legumes, tofu, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables
  • Vegetarian: includes legumes, tofu, eggs, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables

These plans are all Chef’s Choice, meaning that you receive meals from the service’s rotating menu and cannot select specific entrees or sides.

Optionally, you can choose to make the paleo meal plan Whole30 Approved, which eliminates any added sugars, grains, dairy products, and legumes from your menu.

Trifecta Nutrition also offers a classic plan, which allows you to choose your meals to create a custom menu.

Generally, each meal on the classic plan consists of meat or fish, sweet potatoes or rice, and mixed vegetables.

You can order meals for either 5 or 7 days per week, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a third entree.

For this review, I tested Trifecta’s vegetarian meal plan and sampled 7 days of lunch and dinner.

You can browse and order meals from Trifecta Nutrition directly on the service’s website or by downloading an app, which is available for both iPhone and Android.

After selecting your plan or adding items to your cart, you can create a free account using your email address.

Tracking information is provided from Thursday through Saturday, and meals are typically delivered every Friday or Saturday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Any changes to your order should be made by the Friday before your next expected delivery date. Changes made after this date will be applied to your order the following week.

After you place your first order, your delivery will be automatically renewed each week. You can skip future deliveries on the app or website or customize your delivery schedule to receive meals every other week, every 3 weeks, or once a month by contacting customer service.

How long do Trifecta Nutrition meals last?

Meals are vacuum-sealed and shipped with ice packs, which helps ensure that they stay fresh during transit until they can be refrigerated.

When I received my order, most meals were labeled with an “enjoy by” date within 1–2 weeks. However, the service also notes that you can freeze your meals to extend their shelf life for up to 3 months.

Trifecta Nutrition has a rotating weekly menu that features a variety of fresh and flavorful ingredients.

The service offers menus for several dietary restrictions, including ketogenic, paleo, vegan, and vegetarian meal plans.

Here are a few examples of items from the menu:

  • salmon and wild rice with dried cranberry and rosemary
  • Korean beef bulgogi served with seasonal vegetables and topped with a tangy sauce
  • crispy tofu skillet over quinoa with fresh produce

You can also order certain items a la carte, including prepared proteins, carbohydrates, and veggies.

If you purchase a subscription for one of the meal plans, you can choose up to two ingredients to exclude from your weekly menus, such as mushrooms, soy, shellfish, or salmon.

On the classic plan, you can also order meals individually from the menu.

However, keep in mind that none of the other Trifecta plans allow you to select specific meals or create your own weekly menu.

This may be a major drawback for some people.

For example, although I don’t consider myself a picky eater, I did enjoy some meals more than others and found myself wishing I could swap certain meals or build my own custom menu.

Additionally, while I don’t have any food allergies, there are several ingredients that I dislike.

However, the service allows you to exclude only two ingredients and offers a very limited selection of ingredients to choose from.

All Trifecta meals feature fresh, high quality ingredients that are sourced from family-run suppliers with sustainable practices whenever possible.

In addition to using all organic produce, the service features humanely raised, grass-fed meat and sustainably sourced seafood.

Meals are also made with healthy fats such as olive oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil and seasoned with sea salt and organic spices.

I found that the meals had enough variety and featured a range of diverse ingredients, which helped ensure that they didn’t feel boring or repetitive throughout the week.

The service also uses an array of spices and seasonings, and I found that most ingredients maintained their taste and texture very well, even after reheating, which can be a common issue with prepared meals.

Trifecta Nutrition provides several meal plans that vary in price, depending on the number of servings you select each week.

Here’s an example of how much each plan costs:

  • Vegan and vegetarian plans: $11.25–$14.28 per serving
  • Classic plan: starting at $10.49 per serving
  • Paleo, keto, and “clean” plans: $14.82–$15.86 per serving

Vegetables, proteins, carbohydrates, and snacks can also be purchased individually and range in price depending on the specific items you select.

Trifecta is available throughout the United States and offers free shipping on all orders.

Trifecta Nutrition can be a great option if you’re looking to lose weight.

In fact, all the meals include nutrient-dense foods and high quality ingredients to enhance your diet quality and ensure you’re getting the nutrients you need.

Depending on the plan you select, meals typically contain 350–500 calories per serving, which may help you reduce your calorie intake to support weight loss (1Trusted Source).

Most dishes are also high in protein, with 20–38 grams of protein in each meal.

Some research has found that increasing your protein intake could help keep you feeling full longer, which may help regulate your appetite (2Trusted Source).

The meals are also rich in fiber, which can be beneficial for weight loss and regulating appetite (3Trusted Source, 4Trusted Source).

Furthermore, several of the eating patterns that Trifecta caters to, including ketogenic, paleo, and plant-based diets, could help support weight loss (5Trusted Source, 6Trusted Source, 7Trusted Source).

Several other meal delivery services are similar to Trifecta Nutrition.

Factor, for example, is a service designed to make healthy eating easy by delivering nutritious, fully prepared meals directly to your door.

Like Trifecta, Factor provides options suitable for ketogenic, low carb, vegetarian, and plant-based diets.

However, Factor allows you to select your own meals from its menu based on your food preferences and offers add-ons like shakes, soups, and protein packs.

The Good Kitchen is another meal delivery service with an extensive menu that includes various keto-friendly, paleo, and gluten-free entrees.

Like Trifecta, it uses grass-fed meat and sustainably sourced seafood in all of its meals. Still, not all the ingredients are organic, and it may be slightly more expensive depending on the subscription you choose, with prices starting at $13 per meal.

Here’s a quick look at how these three services compare:

At the time we’re publishing this article, Trifecta Nutrition has an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Google, which is based on 831 total reviews.

On TrustPilot, the company has a 2.4 rating, which is based on 7 reviews from customers.

Positive reviews report that the customer service team is helpful, friendly, and responsive. Many reviews also note that the service makes it easy to enjoy nutritious and balanced meals while spending less time in the kitchen.

On the other hand, less-favorable reviews express frustration with the company’s strict cancellation policy and the fact that a customer must contact the company directly to turn off their account.

Some reviews also report issues with missing deliveries, as well as dissatisfaction with the price of subscriptions and the amount of packaging and plastic in each order.

Trifecta has also been involved in two lawsuits, including one from two former employees who alleged that the company sourced food from local chain restaurants and claimed it as their own during the 2017 CrossFit Games.

The second lawsuit, which was filed in 2020, alleged that the company’s website did not meet accessibility standards per the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Trifecta Nutrition provides healthy, nutritionally balanced meals with options available for a variety of diets.

For this reason, it could be a good option for people hoping to save time in the kitchen while also improving their diet quality.

The meals are tasty, and the menu offers enough variety that it doesn’t feel too repetitive.

If you’re feeling creative, you can even try spicing up your meals by experimenting with other ingredients.

For example, I added some extra veggies and spices I had on hand to help ramp up the flavor.

Trifecta can help streamline meal prep and make it easy to enjoy healthy, nutritionally balanced meals with no cooking required. Therefore, it may be a great option for people with a busy schedule.

Because the service provides detailed information on the nutritional content of each meal, it could also be suitable for athletes, bodybuilders, individuals who are tracking their macronutrient intake, or those following diets that require careful planning, such as keto.

Additionally, it may be useful if you’re interested in experimenting with certain eating patterns — like a vegan or paleo diet — but are unsure how to get started.

On the other hand, Trifecta may not be the best choice for picky eaters or those with particular preferences or food allergies, because it doesn’t allow you to choose your own meals.

If you like having the ability to select your own meals or create a custom menu, you may need to order the classic plan or opt for another meal delivery service instead.

Additionally, Trifecta allows you to exclude only two ingredients from your meals, and the list of ingredients you can choose from is somewhat limited, which is an important drawback to consider.

The service can also get expensive, especially if you’re ordering several meals per day. This makes it a poor fit if you’re on a tight budget.

Is Trifecta Nutrition worth it?

Trifecta may be worth trying if you are looking for a simple way to enjoy a healthy, well-rounded diet while saving time on meal prep. They also provide detailed information on the nutritional content of each meal, which could be a key consideration for some people.

However, it may not be a good fit for people with specific food preferences, dietary restrictions, or food allergies. Additionally, it is relatively expensive, which may not be ideal for those with a limited budget.

Can you lose weight with Trifecta?

Trifecta meals are nutrient-dense, high in protein, and relatively low in calories, which could help support weight loss. However, whether you will lose weight while using Trifecta depends on many factors, including your activity level and what the rest of your diet looks like.

Does Trifecta offer a free trial?

Trifecta does not currently offer a free trial. However, they do provide discounts for new customers, including 40% off your first order.

Can you freeze Trifecta meals?

Trifecta meals come in vacuum-sealed packaging and can be frozen prior to the “enjoy by” date listed on the package. You can thaw frozen meals in the fridge 1 day before you plan to eat them or place them under cold running water for 15–20 minutes before heating.

Trifecta Nutrition is an organic meal delivery service that focuses on improving the way you look and feel by enhancing your diet quality.

With several meal plans and menu options available, Trifecta caters to a wide variety of taste buds and dietary needs.

It also allows you to order multiple meals per day, helping you save time in the kitchen without sacrificing flavor or nutrition.

While it’s a great option if you’re looking for nutritious, fully prepared meals, the service is a poor fit if you’re on a tight budget or prefer to have more control over the exact meals and ingredients you receive each week
